MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 May 12 Observer(s): Anne Jaskot & Astro 461 Institution(s): University of Michigan Instrument: 4k Imager Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Poor seeing and perhaps some thin clouds (seen on the all-sky imager on the weather page). We received the same 'slew error' as yesterday, but it didn't seem to affect anything. As a more general note, it would be helpful to have better instructions on how to focus the telescope. The focus tool in Prospero works, but there's not info on the focus steps it's using to increment. One last thing: we noticed a mouse in the control room, who seems to be avoiding all the traps set for it. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 May 13 [4:36:30]
